The Healing Power of Journalling with Tracy Phillips

Tracy Phillips

Director and Creative Consultant, Ppurpose

Bynd Artisan: Everyone who journals, journals in their own unique way. What is your way, and when did you start journalling?

Tracy Phillips: I started journalling, on and off, when I was in my teens. When I was younger, it was more of a diary and account of what I did, but in the last few years, it has become more about just seeing what comes out on the page, and processing those thoughts and feelings that present themselves, as well as a place to make affirmations.

BA: How often to do you journal?

TP: I do this a few times a week now, usually when I wake up. Often, I start by writing down the dreams I remember from the night before, lest they’re lost for good. When I don’t remember any, I auto-journal whatever comes to mind until I fill a page, and then I read through it without any self-judgment.

BA: How has it helped and benefitted you in your mental and emotional wellbeing?

Journalling has been a great tool to see what’s really going on in my mind, and a way to start the day with clarity, focus and intention." — Tracy Phillips
