Joanne Lim is drawn to the power of words. In her practice, she uses words as parameters to imagine and to express form. Her spontaneous and thoughtful works deviate from conventional calligraphic forms and are imbued with a distinctive sensibility. Originally trained in graphic design, with a background in advertising, she now runs The Letter J Supply, a studio that creates original artworks and hosts workshops with a focus on calligraphy.

With this “Frame Of Mind” collection, artist Joanne Lim of The Letter J Supply turns these uplifting reminders into art pieces (printed with archival ink on Bynd Artisan’s fine art paper certified to last 25 years), and puts them into little unvarnished solid ash wood-framed windows she designed — for this is how the light comes through. Each art piece is individually signed by the artist.
