Dr Ng King Kang (吴 庆 康) is a media personality, lyricist and an author. A prominent figure in the media industry with nearly three decades of experience, King Kang is recognised as one of the most respected writers in Singapore. His writing has earned a mention by Prime Minister, Mr Lee Hsien Loong, at the National Day Rally 2012.
A graduate from several esteemed universities, King Kang holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS), a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and a PhD from Deakin University (Geelong, Australia). To date, King Kang has written twenty books (two in English) and is also a prolific song-writer. He has penned hundreds of Chinese songs since the mid- eighties for notable profiles including Jacky Cheung, Aaron Kwok, Andy Lau, Na Ying, William Su, Power Station, GiGi Leong, Dick Lee, Eric Moo, Fann Wong, Zoe Tay, Mavis Hee, Jimmy Ye, Tanya Chua, Stefanie Sun etc. A multi-talented individual, he also sings and has recorded four albums thus far.
Deeply passionate about photography and travelling, King Kang often seeks out new adventures around the world and documents these stories through pictures which speak a thousand words. Having captured beautiful moments through his lenses, King Kang held his first solo photography exhibition in 2015 at the Fullerton Hotel Singapore, which was a huge success.
